Time for Teal ( and Aqua, Turquoise, Blue-Green, Green-Blue)

Teal is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month.

I threw all my teal scraps in with my blues so they got sorted out in January from my other blues so my scraps were ready and I didn't have to dig much.  But I could barely scrape up enough different teals to complete these blocks.  With March a month with 5 ScrapHappy Saturdays I'm not sure I'll make it through the month with anything to show.

I've been making 3 kaleidoscope blocks each month - one made all of the color of the month, one made with color of the month and color of previous month  (pink) and one made with color of the month and it's complement (orange since I think my teals tend toward blue). The corners are all made from crumbs.  I figured in the overall quilt they would look like those little kaleidoscope pieces all mixed together before they turn into a design.  Blocks measure 12.5 inches.

In order to cut the corner pieces I had to sew together some crumbs so here's my leftover 6.5 inch crumb blocks.  I also usually have at least 6.5 inches left over from the kaleidoscope strips.

Visit ScrapHappy Saturday for more great ideas on ways to use up your scraps.

What a great idea to stretch your colour for the month by using it in conjunction with the previous month's colour and its complement. Your blocks are wonderful.

I love how your kaleidoscope blocks look like they are spinning.

I love the way you are combining the previous month's color. That is going to be one great quilt. I also love your crumb blocks, it is fun to see all the different fabrics, almost like an eye spy quilt.

So sorry to hear you have used up your teal already! Great blocks though. Hope you find some other scraps to play with for the rest of the month.

Beautiful fabrics, blocks. I've had to buy a few new pieces of a color to make it through a RSC month. Helped me create a more rounded stash.
